What is Ceramic Microsphere Paint?

Ceramic microspheres were invented as an outgrowth from the manufacture of solid ceramic beads. Because the microspheres are made of ceramic, they provide the additional benefits of high heat and chemical resistance. Ceramic microspheres are tiny spheres many times smaller than the width of a single strand of human hair. They are used in paint formulations to increase solids, enhance properties and improve processability. Unlike the more commonly used irregular-shaped fillers, such as calcium carbonate, the spherical shape of ceramic microspheres allows them to roll evenly over one another, much like ball bearings. Do Ceramic Paint Coatings Really Work?
